This toilet at a Church in Takapuna was blocked with wet wipes. We had to remove the toilet from the floor to run a CCTV inspection of the pipe. Upon inspection, we found that one of the drain pipe junctions was filled with wet wipes. Unlike normal toilet tissues, wet wipes won’t disintegrate easily. Continuous usage of wet wipes created a massive clog inside the pipe resulting slow flow of wastewater and a foul smell. We used our high-pressure hydro jet to break down the clogged wet wipes and remove the blockages. Once it was done we refitted the toilet and restored the toilet to its working condition.
Upon completing our job we recommended our client to avoid using wet wipes inside the toilet as they will block the toilets again in no time.
